I have mentioned Beacon Street three times over the last two years and reported very much the same problems right across the street from you. Two people very close to me were badly hurt for tripping on broken sidewalk, which prompted me to start reporting it, since I thought eventually people could start taking legal action for broken bones.
Unfortunately in recent months circular Avenue has received priority attention even though my reporting Beacon Street was started two years ago. Thank you very much for reporting, anyway.
Thank you for reporting the site to the Town. We will be dispatching our inspector to the site to evaluate the sidewalk. Please allow us up to two weeks to conduct the inspection.
We do have other locations on Beacon that have been inspected over the past two years. The Town has not done many sidewalks due to lack of capital funding over the past 4 years. Having just received funding authorization, we have started our sidewalk crews working.
The Town currently repairs sidewalks based on the roads with the oldest complaints. The Engineering Department re-inspected the site on 10/12/2021. We have determined that the sidewalk, walkout, and driveway apron do need to be repaired/replaced. Based on current funding, we do not have a good estimate on when the replacement will be conducted. The site has been added to our master list for repairs.
https://seeclickfix.com/issues/8540934 I see that my post (url above) from 9/2020 regarding the same issue, with an image, but across the street, was closed 10/27/2020, even though you responded here acknowledging the need for repair. Honestly, this looks like funds are not properly handled. Where is taxpayer money going if something as basic as this cannot be repaired?
