There is a similar problem happening on Walnut st between Suffolk and Dwight. It has been going on for the last 10 years despite repeated attempts by the neighbors to get the city to act. I hope you have better luck than us Mr Borowski.

this can happen when the company tows for the city , or knows officials of some type. I can name a few towns / cities that "look" the other way for towing co.s with illegal yards. This sound like that.

Let's reopen this issue since it hasn't been resolved.

Looks like the City doesn't have staff that is willing to do their job. How many years will it take to get the building department to act??? Since the building inspector built his garage on the neighbors property, it's obvious you can do whatever you want!

When Holyoke had more (working) population there was actual leadership, so much for memories. Nobody cares, what a shame. Soon this issue will be having its 9th birthday.

I am the current Zoning Official and am looking into this matter. I went by the property but could not see anything from the public street/sidewalk. If you would like to pursue this matter, please contact me directly at the Building Department (or email listed on our website) so we can schedule a time that I can come onto your property and see it for myself.

What I meant was: I need to be able to see and document this junk yard for myself and I'm not able to do that from public street/sidewalk access. If you can see the junk yard from your property (a window or a porch or whatever) then you would need to give me access to that location.

If anyone can see this supposed junk yard and can give me access to see and document it then please contact me at the building department, otherwise there's not a whole lot we can do.

Now I get it, I don't live there so it is not my concern. After 9 years I should have figured that out. What about the person blocking Anniversary Rd with his tow trucks? I don't live there either but is extremely visible from Northampton St.

THAT I can do. Adding it to my list and will look into it next week. And about this property, I'm keeping the request open in case someone can give me access but I will try to contact the owner and see if we can get a dialogue open. Thank you for your vigillance.
