Description

Witnessed the owner of Samantha Furniture posting illegal advertising signs on the telephone poles at Prospect/Farmington Avenues at about 4 p.m yesterday. They were using Spray Adhesive to put their signs on the telephone poles in broad daylight. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DOING THIS AND SPRAY PAINTING GRAFFITI? NONE, BOTH SHOULD BE STRICTLY OUTLAWED. Makes the area look cheap and is illegal. TO COMPLETELY STOP THIS TYPE OF ILEGAL ADVERTISING CITYWIDE, ALL THE CITY HAS TO DO IS TO FINE THE COMPANIES THAT ARE POSTING THESE ILLAGAL ADS, THE NAMES AND TEL NUMBERS ARE RIGHT ON THE SIGNS. THIS WOULD MAKE THE CITY LOOK BETTER AND CLEANER AND BRING IN REVENUE AS WELL. GRAFFITI TAGGERS HAVE TO BE CAUGHT IN THE ACT. TO STOP THESE SLEAZY COMPANIES THAT ARE DEFACING PUBLIC PROPERTY, ALL THE POLICE AHD TO DO IS TICKET THE COMPANIES THAT HAVE SIGNS POSTED ILLEGALLY, IT'S SIMPLE. IF THERE IS NO ORDINANCE ON THE BOOKS, ONE SHOULD BE PUT IN EFFECT WHICH WOULD GIVE THE POLICE THE POWER TO STOP THIS ACTIVITY CITYWIDE AND MAKE THE CITY CLEANER AND NOT LOOK CHEAP AND SLEAZY.
