Description
There is a dangerous blind spot due in part to the diagonal shape of this intersection. When passing a car waiting to turn left, you are unable to see any cars turning left from the opposing lane of traffic. The opposite is true of turning left: if another car in the opposing lane is waiting to turn left, your view of oncoming traffic I'm the right lane is obscured. This is a very sketchy intersection in high traffic, and it badly needs a left turn light.

Happy New Year Mayor Bingham,
Is this on your traffic department's radar? How expensive is it to put in a left turn signal and is it a possibility here?
Thanks,
Ben

Thanks for submitting this issue.
By law, the local traffic authority, in this case headed by Torrington Police Officer Shopey, can submit a one page form to the state requesting a signal be installed.
The State Traffic Commission may then authorize a traffic study, which reports back to the commission. A representative from Torrington can attend the commission meeting to voice the opinion of the town regarding the report. The application is then approved or denied.
Rep. Cook is happy to support the town in its request and looks forward to helping out in any
way she can.
Thanks,
