Extremely dangerous cross walk. Speeding cars on Lincoln blast through this crosswalk at 40-50 mph. Nearly run over numerous times. Please add a flashing light and a button

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. Early next year, the City will begin public engagement on the Lincoln/Marshall/Pacific Avenue Safety Improvement Project, which will design improvements for the corridor for the 3.1 miles from Broadway to Main. City Council allocated $200,000 for this effort in the 2021-2023 Capital Budget. To make sure you hear when this project begins, please sign up for the Vision Zero mailing list at www.alamedaca.gov/Subscribe.
Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.
