could we please get an update on this code violation? nothing reported since mid november. nothing at all has changed or improved with the violation. this home is truly an eyesore for all.

The case has been referred to Municipal Court and the magistrate is reviewing the case. When the magistrate is finished with the review he will set a court date for the hearing.

House at 1711 Valpar Drive appears to have 2 broken down cars filled with junk and a yard full of garbage bags and a garage that appears to be partially opened and filled with stuff. It has been this way for a very long time throughout all types of weather. We haven’t seen the lady who lives here in a couple of months..

The Municipal Court has attempted to schedule this hearing several times but has been unable to do so because they have been unable to serve process on the homeowner. If anyone has any information about her location, please call the Hoover Police Dept. Dispatch at 205-822-5300 or Code Enforcement at 205-739-6851.

Based upon the agreement reached at the hearing, the two inoperable vehicles have been removed but the property remains in violation for multiple infractions. Due to the homeowner's reluctance and/or inability to bring the property into compliance, multiple departments within the City are looking into what options are available for bringing the property into compliance. The homeowner who has managed to bring large portions of the property into compliance. However, one area of the driveway/garage remains in violation. Code Enforcement has remained in contact with the homeowner and we believe we have a viable plan to bring the property into full compliance by mid-June.
