Hello,

Over this past summer, I had rats on my property and in my garage. This is the first time I have seen rats in my 19 years in Whitman. I live just across South Ave from the old Park Ave school. I have killed a bunch of rats in snap traps this year.
My exterminator suggested that this abandoned building is a likely breeding ground for the rodents.

I have two questions:

First, is pest control being done at this old building?

Second, is there anything that can be done about this property? Can it be given back to the family that deeded it to Whitman? I would rather see this property turn into homes that have this eye-sore and potential health hazard in my neighborhood. Where can I voice my opinion and request action?
