Descrição
Wall Street speculative money is invested in New York City's housing market with the ploy to remove tenants from rent-stabilized housing and rent those units at market price. There are many forms of illegal and legal harassment being employed to achieve this. In my instance, Extell Development Corp. changed all the windows of the building when they were in good working condition to request a Major Capital Improvement when it was not needed. This is a rent increase since after they pay off the windows and labor the tenant continues to pay for the MCI. Legislation is needed to prevent the displacement of tenants and the disruption of communities. Will you advocate and legislate for the tenants?

Not a issue that is considered an emergency to the City Of New York. This is a personal statement. Lets use this forum correctly.
Thanks

Mr. Torres:
I have worked for many years trying to stop the practice of unfair MCI's in New York City. I am actually the sponsor of a bill which makes the MCI rent increase a temporary increase rather than permanent, until the cost of the improvement has been paid off, not this current system which allows for the rents to stay the same far after the improvement has been paid back. I agree with you that many landlords use MCI's as a way to increase their revenues at the expense of the tenants and that it is a practice that must be legislated. Thank you for your email and please do not hesitate to contact me with your concerns about any community issue in the future.
Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Sincerely,
Assemblyman Keith Wright

Hi Victor,
Is this issue placed at a specific location for a reason?
Thanks,

Lets use this outlet for what i feel is a way for the general public of NYC to reach out on a more personal level to have issues fixed. Not read a personal rant.

Thanks Victor,
Unfair housing issues in specific locations does fit SeeClickFix.
We find that pointing to the specific issues for resolution can incrementally solve the larger problem.
Appreciate that this is the case here.
Civil Servant, we can filter out issues like this from hitting 311 when they come on board as these are more for counci issues I presume.
Thanks to both of you for being early users in NYC.
-Ben
