I've attached a new picture of my eroding bank . You can see where the roots are exposed on an evergreen tree (that is now dying from being exposed). So far I have been dealing with a representative of the Winnebago County Highway Dept who has visited the site twice. He is researching what could be done to help me. I am expecting to hear from him soon. I am living in fear of every rain storm as the stream's raging current destroys more and more of my property.

We have lost a little more ground but since the temperatures have dropped, the bank has gotten more firm and looks to be able to hold up until spring. Spring rains and snow melt will undoubtedly cause a lot more erosion.

This still has not been resolved! We have lost a lot more ground and several trees. The creek bed has gotten 14 ft deep and and at least 20 ft wide. It was only a small narrow stream before the water from State Street was diverted to the creek. We always have standing water in the creek which is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Why hasn't it been addressed by the county or our Congressman? Cherry Valley representative with the Rockford Sanitation Dept and said it could be easily fixed. The supervisor came out and said they wouldn't be doing anything to resolve it. The Sanitation Dept has been aware of the threat to the sewer pipe for over 8 years. We don't understand why there hasn't been some preemptive solution before there is a major catastrophe with the sewage system.

This has still not been taken care of and is getting worse. Jude Torres of the Sanitation Dept said that it would be fixed for many years as it was getting very close to the sanitation sewer pipes. He told us he would have it fixed before it got critical. If our big pine tree uproots from the extreme erosion it will definitely damage the pipes. We recently found out that he passed away as of July 2019 and we do not know who to contact about this problem. We need help with his situation.
