City of Canton Building Department_3 assigned this issue to City of Canton Street Department

Your request has been received and will be reviewed and processed in accordance with the City's codified ordinance. The request has been added to an internal tracking list and will be addressed in the order in which it was received. We appreciate your patience as the the city addresses the large number of vacant lots. The city will address requests as resources permit.

Start taking care of the property as if it is yours already.... The Councilman would be more willing to sign off on acquiring the lot if you have skin in the game... It will also help your neighborhood look nice. Just a thought ! The process is long.... Talk to your councilman about the lot and see if there are any other plans for the lot.... If not then he or she is on your side from the beginning and not the end.

The councilman West tells it like it is, he should try to use these same words of wisdom on his own properties and in his own Ward.

Not true West. My husband and i cleaned a lot up next to us last year. Had paid someone to take 2 trucks full of junk, debris and tires. Lem green told us to go ahead and clean it up and come down and fill out application to get the property through landbank. Did all that and told us it would take 9 months to a year to get it. Lem new there was an alley that separates our property and said it wouldnt be a problem. Guess what. Now its a problem and says we cant get it because of that. Really. We got the property looking so nice. We were gonna put a garden in this past spring but had to put it on hold.

Concerned.. Sorry about your experience but in January the landbank created a vacant lot program.. Where the property does not have to be next to your property.... So your lot may still be in the making.

So are you telling me that they found someone to fill that spot. Lem green told me that he wasnt sure who was gonna be in charge of it. This was in march that i talked to him.

Concerned the Stark County Regional Planning is now over the process of the land bank. They are working on the application... Talk to Sara or Community Building Partnership they know the land bank inside and out ... Good Luck !
