Description

I admire the volunteer emergency personnel in the town of Litchfield, however, they need to learn to slow down before they kill themselves or others while trying to respond to a call. I have seen cars with flashing blue lights speeding, running stop signs and red lights, and performing very unsafe maneuvers in their personal vehicles (this holds true for the ambulance personnel located at 11 East St as well with their flashing green or blue lights). The fire fighters jump in those giant red trucks and pull out onto West Street - often without slowing down to make sure traffic has stopped for them and cutting people off. I know the state police in town have had to step up and speak to the volunteers after receiving numerous complaints. Perhaps it's time for another reminder so the people who have dedicated themselves to saving life and property don't need saving themselves while responding.
