No access to getting a drink of water at the Birchmere. Have to buy. Most city codes you have to at least have a drinking fountain available. Concert tickets 88.00 (2). Pitcher of beer 21.00 food 20.00 and I couldn't even get a glass of water I would have shared it gladly with my partner! If there water is undrinkable let people know. Isn't there a state or city ordinance against this?

The water supply serving The Birchmere is from the public water supply serving virtually all of Alexandria. Alexandria's drinking water is tested for bacteria many times each month by the Virguinia American Water Company. Alexandria's drinking water is regulated by the Virginia Department of Health's Office of Drinking Water under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act. The tap water at The Birchmere, as in all of Alexandria, is very safe.
Unfortunately the Alexandria Health Department has no regulations requiring that restaurants provide a drinking fountain or serve tap water, though it is typically done as a courtesy at most restaurants.
You can call the Director of Food and Beverages at the The Birchmere (703-549-7500) to let him know about your concern.
