We have a total of 8 in the area. The crossing guard at Russell street is out right now and will return. There is a crossing guard at Highland Ave and another one east of Russell street

Thank you for your response. I know of the other crossing guards in the area and I’m glad to hear that crossing guard is returning. However, I would like to think that you are already aware of the volume of traffic around the school during drop off time and also the tendency of Malden drivers to speed and not pay attention to pedestrians, stop lights, etc. People speed down Pleasant street all the time in order to run through the impending yellow light at Highland. I don’t think it was ridiculous of me to ask for an interim replacement for this crossing guard and I do hope your team has the safety of Malden’s children as a top priority
