Sharraxaadda

There appears to be a demolition in progress of 711 S Smedley Street. A permit appears to be posted. Is a zoning hear required for this process? I live on this block and was unaware that there will no be a large hole at this address and that workers would be blocking the street with trucks necessary to remove the structure. Where can I find out more information about this? I constantly following zoning meetings and this did not appear on any agenda items that I can find. Please direct me to any information or concerns I should be aware of when a house is demolished within my block.
