Many of the residents on this street are elderly. There are young families with children as well. As a result of the lack of adequate street lights as soon as the dusk sets these elderly become hostages in their own homes unable to even put out a bag of trash or walk their pets. The children can’t play outside and adults feel unsafe strolling to a market for milk. Adequate lighting would increase the quality of life for everyone of all ages. Better lighting may also deter the rise in gun violence on this block as it intersects with Myrtle Ave where gang violence is increasing. Thank you for your time and attention.

The City will coordinate an upgrade of the lighting with PSE&G.
