Deskripsyon

Since the new lights have been installed along the Pike, the light in front of the police station cycles through again causing traffic to stop for no one coming out. I thought this light was to have a sensor to trip the light for the minimal traffic that comes out of there? I guess not....

I've noticed a pattern here: during the summer, the lights are working and go red on Chester Pike for no apparent reason. Then when school starts again, the light goes to blinking. I wonder if it's for the safety of the kids who might be trying to cross Chester Pike to go to the athletic fields? If so, they should be pressing the pedestrian button that's there. But I see no other reason. Watch, I'll bet that in September the light will go back to blinking.

BTW, that light is not new; it has been there for at least 15 years. Used to be used by Boeing employees going in & out of what used to be their exercise facility and has now been turned over to Ridley.

Ok. Let me re phrase. The light has been replaced with a new led light that Rep. Miccarelli gotten a grant to replace the traffic lights along Chester pike from Chester border to darby boro. Before it was "replaced", it was on flash.

OK, sorry, I didn't realize it was new. Anyway, even before that, it seemed to be on flash during the school year, then working during the summer. I remember hearing something about it being that way so the kids who are off school and want to play at the rec center can get across the street. Not that I've ever seen anyone waiting to cross there.
