Since the pa tpke can only handle a fixed volume of cars at a given speed, there is a need to limit the number of vehicles entering the pa tpke so as to not cause the daily traffic stopage from philadelphia to the mid county exit. Entrances at philadelphia, willow grove and fortwashington are the leading cause of tie ups. Drivers merging feel they have the right of way. They forget when merging, the driver already on the road has the right of way and is not obligated to yield to merging traffic. Easy pass is not helping. It actually contributes to the problem by allowing traffic access to the highway faster. West bound is extremely bad morning and night. This is also leads to accidents on many days.
