The problem is the City of Oakland will do nothing about the people creating these waste piles. I use the word people loosely. They will just stumble around the corner or find more of kind and start creating a new debris pile. This a gigantic problem involving thousands of mental ill, unfortunate. drug addicts, homeless or just lazy people all over the bay area and beyond. Yes I am a NIMBY I work very hard to take care of my property and my neighborhood to put up with a group with no pride.

This spot is getting worse every day. I don't even want to get close enough to re-photograph it.

OK, here's an up-to-date photo. Can we presume that PWD probably "addressed this issue" by providing additional "construction materials?"

Is it not on public property? If not, has Publics Works referred it to another agency like Code Enforcement?

"Code Enforcement," Eileen, is a fictitious entity that PWD uses when it just doesn't want to bother with the issue.

Code Enforcement does exist :-). I was just emailing with them a week or so ago.

This is no longer Harvest Fellowship Church. It is now the Lighthouse Mosque, and the encampment has been gone for at least a year. There are other trash problems on the block, though.
