Description

The traffic signal on Michelle Way cycles to green during the 5am and 6am hours. There is almost never a vehicle on Michelle Way to be detected by sensors. The light then stays green for at least 30 seconds. This is extremely disruptive to north/south traffic on Higley RD. Also, the synchronization with the light on Baseline if going north is tight. At conservative acceleration rates and driving speeds, motorists will also have to stop at the red light at Baseline, further disrupting traffic. To negate this, motorists need to accelerate rapidly and/or speed. That seems counterintuitive to the purposes of traffic regulation: safety and efficiency. Can you please turn off the auto cycle and make it sensor based only?
