Description
This has to be the worst designed intersection in Gilbert. Why does it take 20 minutes and multiple cycles for cars to get through? On top of that, there seems to be never-ending construction. There isn't a single solution for this intersection, and I'm finding myself avoiding businesses here because it's a 20 minute ordeal to get out.

There are a few projects in the area that are currently under design to alleviate the congestion near Lindsay/Val Vista and Germann Road. Germann Road in this area is concurrently under construction. There is a traffic signal in the final stages of design at Melrose Street and Val Vista Drive. This is anticipated to change the driving patterns and more vehicles to use Melrose Street and Val Vista Drive intersection and alleviate the congestion at the Willis Road/Mercy Road and Val Vista Drive and Germann Road and Quartz Street. In addition, there is a project in early design for the Willis Road/Mercy Road and Val Vista Drive intersection. The current plan is to create more vehicle capacity at this intersection by construction dual lefts at each approach.
