The pile keeps getting bigger and bigger. This weekend, 2 additional mattresses and on chair/couch were added to the pile. This is the FOURTH (4) week that this has been here. What is going on?
Code Compliance sent a letter to the property owner on August 7, 2014 and they are giving seven days to comply and if not the City will have there contractor clean up the site and the property owner will be billed.
- Code compliance letter sent on August 7.
- Owners given 7 days to comply = August 14.
- Today is August 25.
Somehow, somewhere, 11 days have gone by without the city taking any steps to have a contractor clean up the site.
While I appreciate the comment, I really want the trash cleaned up. Somehow, I doubt it would be left this way if it were on Moore's River Drive between MLK and Waverly.
What am I missing about the city's response on this and the amount of time that has passed?
Hi Peter, It can be frustrating to watch heaps of junk pile up, I get it. Wondering if this another of those situations where tenant or owner walked away, with the idea that they're done with this place. Never to look back, not interested in who has to take care of the junk. They may have only left the first layer of the pile. Next along comes a neighbor who sees an opportunity to get rid of some of their own junk and sneaks another layer on top. You mentioned you've seen it "growing"...maybe keep a watchful eye there to see if someone tries dumping more before the city gets it picked up. With experience I'll say the city will get it, just maybe not today...kidding.
