Description

Come on city of Topeka. You do not need 12th street closed from Lane to MacVicar. This is getting ridiculous. Work on a few blocks at a time. Get them finished and move to the next few. This is getting really frustrating with the road closed signs and nothing happening…

No one has said a word.
Just like their work on 12th last year between Mulvane and Topeka Blvd and only one street opened to pass thru. Super annoying and they didn’t care about the residents who live here and that it was very frustrating for getting in and out of the neighborhood.

How do you expect this to get resolved? Either they shut down the whole stretch and you complain or they shut down parts, constantly moving cones and closures, and other people complain.

Projects of this magnitude are inherently disruptive to traffic flow. There are many components to this project - private utility relocation, waterline and storm sewer replacement, pavement construction - that require careful coordination between multiple companies and contractors. It is necessary to close down long stretches of 12th St. to through traffic (while maintaining access to local residents along the corridor) in order to perform the work in the required sequence and complete this project in a timely and cost effective manner.
