Thank you for contacting us regarding the bump and metal plates on I-80 in Parleys Canyon. The bump at the transition between the new and existing pavement is scheduled to be taken care of this weekend, when the contractor completes paving the travel lanes on I-80. The bump has remained until now because the project’s schedule has focused on paving the other travel lanes and ramps first - because this is near the on-ramps for both Foothill Drive and I-215, it has required more complex planning to minimize traffic disruptions and ensure the safety of both workers and drivers.

The metal plates were necessary to protect concrete that had been poured at the site of several drains in the median - the plates are being removed as soon as the concrete reaches sufficient strength.
