Thank you for your SeeClickFix notification dated August 20, 2014. Chief Holloway has asked me to respond directly to you regarding your issue with the boat parked in the road at 67 Street North, between 12 Terrace North and 13 Avenue North. You also made reference to a commercial cargo van parked on the street at times. The information you provided was forwarded to Community Service Sergeant Richard Hladik to investigate.
Sergeant Hladik reported that he assigned Officer Mitch Detty to monitor and patrol this area to resolve your concerns. He advised he conducted several Directed Patrols, located the boat and spoke to the owner. The boat has been moved and the ordinance was explained to the owner. Currently boats can only be parked on the road for a period of 4 hours from Monday to Thursday. Boats can be parked for 24 hours starting Thursday at 4 P.M. until Monday morning at 8 A.M. In reference to the commercial cargo van that you have seen on occasion, it has been determined it could legally be parked on the street since it has no commercial logos. The owner did advise he would park it in the driveway to alleviate any concerns.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact the Community Service Unit at (727) 551-3183. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.
Sincerely,
Luke C. Williams
