I tried to visit several of the shops in Old Town, but was only able to do so on one block secondary to the steep slope of the sidewalk towards the road. I am a wheelchair user and it is very dangerous to try to navigate the sidewalks when they are so steep.
Thanks for reporting this issue. I have passed the complaint along. The property owner will be notified and told to fix the issue. If the property owner fails to do so, then we will work on fixing the problem. Have a great day!
I have reported the issue and an inspector will view it as soon as possible. The best option is to call 517-483-4455 to report the issue to determine what can be done. After it is inspected, if appropriate, the City may install an asphalt wedge or overlay to address the issue until a permanent fix can be put in place. The City currently has funding to replace approximately one mile of sidewalk a year. Homeowners have the option to do an owner-initiated repair, which allows the costs to be allocated appropriately between the City and homeowner.Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for connecting with the City of Lansing. The City’s new and improved online service request system, Lansing Connect, is now available at lansingmi.gov/lansingconnect and for free in your smartphone app store. While the City will continue to monitor SeeClickFix on a time available basis, and will forward issues to the correct department, Lansing Connect will provide you with a timelier response, as well as follow-up information on your report. You can check the status of this request on the lansing connect app using the following ID: 330572.
