They’re are now 3 vehicles, 1 junk motor home and a tent, just on the dirt across from the park. Plus the blue JUNK SUV with garbage all over and now a truck with a camper in the parking lot. Multiple… multiple reports have been filed and so far the city has done absolutely NOTHING! Contacted our council representative and she has done nothing. We are loosing our neighborhood park to homeless homesteaders which is a danger to our elementary school nearby, and will eventually drop or hone values! Thank you the city of Albuquerque for your inaction!

There is a camper in the parking lot and 3 diff people sleeping on the east side of the park

That little dog in the picture chased after me and my son as we rode our bikes through the park. They’ve been there for weeks now

@cabq, @MayorKeller you are failing us! We did not have this problem before and now our park is being overrun by these transients. They are trashing our park and impacting our quality of life. DO SOMETHING NOW!

311 said they would contact animal control, either they did and animal control swept under the rug or 311 swept under the rug, both lead to inaction!

Write to our city councilor, Renee Grout. This must stop.

Flexx we had this problem since Berry, they moved over here because they cannot hide deep into Los Altos. It did not just start with Mayor Keller.

I emailed Grout, called APS and the county, I also sent email to the mayor. Not sure what else I can do. Unless we go to city council meeting in person. Maybe our neighborhood association should contact the city. The city needs to place big signs that no overnight camping will be allowed and will be prosecuted if they’re found camping!

He has a dog tied up to his SUV, first of all it’s dangerous and second that poor dog does not deserve an owner like that!

Looks like the lady living in the tent was packing up but her garbage is strewn all over. The guy and lady in the SUV still there with garbage all over. That huge dilapidated abandoned RV still there, maybe they will get it towed!

A guy was sleeping in his car, no license plate, in the parking lot! Now we need the city to place signs. APS needs to come by and clean that whole vacant lot up. They want to own property but fail to keep it maintained is wrong!

The blue SUV has his stuff packed up towards the back, I was told someone was suppose to come and pick up his things. We shall see

Following this thread and I hope this can finally be resolved.

RV still there, blue SUV still there, people in cars 1/2 with no plates sleeping overnight, truck and camper living in parking lot, the only one who packed up and left was the lady and her tent but she left shopping carts and her garbage all over. So, pretty much nothing got done!

I observed this as well this morning. Shouldn't they be gone by now?

Yes, they are patrolling today to check on them, the SUV cleaned up.

The SUV did clean up, but it is still there.

Drove by around 830pm there was 5 homeless vehicles on the dirt shoulder across from the park, the junk blue SUV who has lived there going on a year and now a huge RV parking lot of the park. This is cancer metastasizing in our neighborhood and loosing any hope the city can handle the influx of homeless homesteaders anymore.

Contact our city Councilor, Renee Grout. We need for her to put her weight behind fixing this.

She can’t do anything about the Mesa across from the park, that is APS property, call APS and complain

The word spreads quickly between these homeless homesteaders that this park is a place to park your RV’s, live in your car or set up tents. The city needs post big signs stating “No overnight camping allowed.” Until the city does this I’m done reporting to 311 because it’s futile!

I called APS a few days ago, they said they would call me back with a response, guess what, no call back!

Ask for school police

I usually contact the real estate division of APS and have gotten good results in the past. However, as we all know the results are temporary.
