In addition to the illegal dumping, there is also a water main break on this property. The water is flooding the neighboring properties. We have called the city repeatedly to get this fixed at no availability. It is hard to believe and very upsetting considering California is in a state of emergency drought.

If my neighbor has a leak on his/her property, should I call EBMUD?
First contact your neighbor and inform them about their leak. If you are not able to talk with them and feel the leak may cause damage to your property or the property of others, then call EBMUD and ask that your neighbor's meter be turned off. If it is determined that the leak is severe or may cause damage, and your neighbor is unaware of the leak or cannot be contacted, EBMUD will turn off the water and leave a note informing the neighbor of the action taken.

if you have seen the leak, then call their Customer Contact Center at 1-866-403-2683 and report it.
If the City of Oakland can't do anything about the water, then maybe EBMUD can.

EBMUD came and found an illegal water hook-up without a meter, and it was leaking - yes - in the drought.
I was told their water would be shut off.

Huge piles of trash are being dumped next to 6869 Simson St.

area is cleaned up now, however there is an open parking area where people come and drop their trash while seeing the view from there
