Description
Three raccoons spotted in broad daylight sitting on the porch of this building, scaring students waiting for the bus this morning. I was told that there is a family of seven raccoons living in the garage of the building next door, also owned by Renaissance Management. Will Animal Control come out and trap them, or is the property owner responsible for taking care of this? It's a health hazard.
also asked...
Q. Is the problem blight (trash, etc) outside, or is it a problem with the building (illegal use, housing code violation, etc)?

My cat was killed by the pack of raccoons mentioned in the first post. I spoke with Animal Control, and they told me that did not catch wild animals. It was the property owners responsibility. I spoke with Rennaissance Management, and they were responsive with hiring an exterminator to set traps, however, to the best of my knowledge, known were caught.
These are young raccoons. As they get older, the pack splits up and moves. I haven't seen them in two weeks. Maybe they wandered up the street.....
as a side note, prior to my unfortunate cat incident, I also saw three of these little beasts outside of the house that got moved on Chapel Street. It seemed that is where they were living. Maybe that is them....not to far away....
