Description
There is an urgent need for a simple traffic light and crosswalk at the intersection of Centennial Lane Elementary School and Centennial Lane where cars exit. It is a real safety concern here for cars turning onto Centennial Lane during peak hrs of school start and end. In addition, children & parents are crossing the road to get to/from school and there's no cross walk.

The following information was also relayed to Principal Wadsworh on December 7, 2015:
There is currently a proposed streetscape in concept planning along Centennial Lane from Frederick Road to Old Annapolis Road, inclusive of a pedestrian refuge island for a crossing at the Centennial Lane Elementary School exit driveway.
Additional requests have been submitted by area citizens regarding a traffic signal at the CLES or Breconshire Road at Centennial Lane. Traffic counts have been collected for both locations for traffic signal warrant analysis. However, please note that when considering the possibility of a traffic signal at a given location, we are required to follow the guidelines set forth in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The MUTCD, a Federal Highway Administration document that is used nationally and adopted by Maryland and its jurisdictions, outlines minimum requirements to ensure that traffic signals are used where they are found to be justified through a comprehensive and objective analysis.

A pedestrian crosswalk with crossing guard will be added to the CLES exit WITH NO TRAFFIC LIGHT ADDED.
