Description
A recent Times Union article stated that one of the reasons why this traffic light is still here (even though the side road connecting to South Pearl St. is currently unused) is to aid pedestrians in the area.
I have never seen any pedestrians crossing South Pearl St. at this location! And furthermore, if they are so worried about pedestrians, then why don't they install a proper crosswalk and crossing signals there?
I think their reason is hogwash!
This traffic light needs to be REMOVED AT ONCE, because all it does is aggravates backups (usually caused by the hundreds of slow-moving tractor-trailer trucks hogging up the road), and it serves NO PURPOSE!!!
The entrance to the Doane School is NOT USED ANYMORE!!!
GET RID OF THIS TRAFFIC LIGHT!!
