Description

Mattresses have been dumped at the blocked-off entrance to the Park. Considering the fact that free bulk pickup is not provided by the City of New Haven, it's not surprising that this takes place. Illegal mattress dumping happens frequently in this area.

I have seen mattresses and furniture en mass since this "fee" was initiated- It would appear this is costing us more to pickup the random dumped garbage than the old system. Also makes this city an eyesore with garbage on almost every street. Who wants to live in a garbage strewn city like Detroit.Time to revisit this issue. Too bad the Director of PW could care less.

If you have further information (car license, color of car,description of person or people doing the dumping) please call the Non Emergency Number 203-946-6316 and use this incident's CAD # to help resolve the issue. We will pick up the items when we can.

Mattresses were picked up, but now there is carpet there. Unfortunately, I did not see who dumped the mattresses.
