Description
THE FLORA & FAUNA HAS BEEN KILLED ON THE RAILROAD TRACKS ALONG WITH SMALL RODENTS & SNAKES. WHAT HAVE THESE FOLKS SPRAYED? IF IT KILLS THEM WHAT WILL IT DO TO FOLKS THAT HIKE THE TRACKS, SMALL CHILDREN & DOGS, THERE IS A STREAM THAT RUNS ALONG THE RAILROAD TACKS THAT I AM SURE MANY CRITTERS DRINK FROM.

Do you have any pictures of all these dead animals?
Did you take soil samples? I'd be interested to know what the results were.
BTW, I know EXACTLY what was sprayed and when. The damage you claim was done would not be from such a pesticide.
Such alarmist statements do no good for anyone involved. Next time, check your facts! The DEEP must confirm exactly what was sprayed and when because they control such operations ON STATE OWNED PROPERTY!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all unconcerned aabout the environment or the lives of snakes and rodents, just the opposite, however...
...if you knew ANYTHING about the area of CT you live in, you'd know that the Clean Waters Act and the Gateway Commission control what goes on along the banks of the river and would NEVER allow the DEEP to randomly spray chemicals that could do the damage you claim.
Looks like someone needs to check their fact before they holler "WOLF!"

What was sprayed? The same stuff people use to kill weeds in their own yards. Basically "Round Up," and because of environmental laws, every ounce must be reported, recorded and accounted for. PERIOD. Valley Railroad is NOT spraying chemicals haphazardly around state property on the banks of the river. PERIOD.

I wanna sleep and do not enjoy hearing the putt-putt-putt of their little choo-choo.
