Beschreibung
As a long time resident of the neighborhood, it appears that after Oakland Housing Authority closed the park on the 2100 block of San Pablo, the residents have drifted to now inhabit West Street between Isabella and West Grand bringing with them debris and filth. The homeless are threatening residents and use whatever trash gets dumped on the street to build makeshift shelters.
Local crime has increased, human fecal matter is strewn along the streets, more prostitution and drug dealing is going on then ever before.

THe problem is really out of hand. The sidewalk and part of the street are blocked, I have seen people using drugs, going to the bathroom etc. I don't know how the people in that house on the corner with the corrugated metal fence even stand it! Should we be calling OPD? I am just not confident that SeeClick Fix will make a difference and it seems that once a homeless camp gets established, it is all but impossible to get rid of.

It would be a good topic to discuss at the next Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council meeting. That's West Oakland Neighbors. I THINK the next meeting is Sept 11th, but you can email your Neighborhood Services Coordinator, Annie Sloan, to ask.
