The stop sign is compliant according to the guidelines given by the MUTCD. The issue seems to be that the stop lines have not been repainted since the street was repaved. We will forward this request to the engineering department.

It may be with in the regulation. But why not take the suggestion and make it safer. We can all agree moving a post 4 feet is not going to cost the city a million dollars. It may save a life which is worth way more

The sign has been in the same location for at least the past 15 years according to google images while the issue of not being visible has just come up since the road was repaved and the stop lines were not repainted.
We will consult with the sign tech about moving the location of the stop sign to see if that will help with the issue and will ask the DPW if these can be repainted next time they have an outside painting crew in the city.

I drive by this everyday. I've never seen anyone miss it in my 9 years living here. Unless it's a cool kid purposely breaking the law.

I was going to submit for the same thing and saw this one. I see people blow through there all the time, the other day 4 cars in a row did it while I was walking at that intersection. The sign may be compliant, but it seems that most other stop signs are on the street side of the sidewalk, so it's not in the usualy place. I have no idea how long this stop sign has been there at all, I know it was not always there before that was a 3 way stop anyway. But yes, the stop lines being put there and maybe the word STOP painted on the street would help as well.
