Description
The company American Environmental makes lots of noise all the time loading and unloading cavernous metal trucks, back up beeps, etc. Their parking lot abuts housing on Grover and Lyman Streets. The business activities here are unsuitable for a residential neighborhood. The most disturbing is when they do these things in the wee hours of the morning - around 5:00 am - sometimes earlier. Waking us from a sound sleep. Or ruin whole weekends with the loud constant beeps and smash crashing bang sounds going on entire days.

I originally had contacted American Environmental (left phone messages) and asked them to stop the noise in the wee hours several times to no avail. So then I started calling the cops on occasion. The last time, after the cop left, they went right back to it, and in addition could hear them loudly joking around about making noise. So the cop obviously posed no threat to them.
Thanks for the ordinance information VanDog. I'll bet it was written back in the early days of paper mills. 11pm seems excessively late and 7am rather early for residents. It does not mention Saturday or Sundays. Perhaps this needs to go to council?
I sure don't want to live with this. I'm a home owner and have continued to improve my historical home despite the disturbing drug related behaviors around here. But I will move if my city openly allows this kind of "legitimate" business to rudely operate at all hours and on weekends in a residential neighborhood. A person has a legal right to quiet enjoyment. Additionally, this business is likely having a negative effect on my real estate value.
So, short of reopening this issue here, any suggestions?
