Forest Road has multiple issues this year. I'll be happy to contact DOT about Forest Road, but my experience with Whalley, Fountain, and Forest, for example, is that DOT defers to the locals.

As a matter of courtesy, if aldermen continue to refer citizens to the delegation for resolution of local problems, it would be helpful if Sen Harp's office is also kept in the loop.

The department of transportation has responded, and will work with the locals to resolve the issue. I also copied Sen Harp's office, and asked DOT to identify a point person for maintenance issues.

I also reported this issue yesterday on the CT DOT website for state roads (http://www.dotdata.ct.gov/contacts/contact.aspx) and today received a call from Mike Lamano, a maintainer with a DOT division in New Haven. He acknowledged that these and also many others in the general area need cleaning, and have been on the list to do so for some time. The DOT's machine to do so has been out of commission but another has been rented and is scheduled to be used by the New Haven division, with luck soon. He promised to visit the site tomorrow to assess the situation.

The DOT came to clean drains in late September. Thanks, DOT! And now we shall see ....
