THANKS! Been living here for 3years and it's problem when you get fined for you neighbors trash

goodness - they just moved in. How about welcoming them to the neighborhood and giving them a break for having all that 'move in' trash? Give them a chance... and a break!

or people can put trash out on trash night, considering the trash was spilling over everywhere, was not in proper bags or containers. yes, i really should give people a chance when they continue to litter and treat the sidewalk as the personal trash can. you are an environmental genius

I was thinking about the times I have moved and how it's impossible to unpack and still keep the trash inside until trash day. It was rude of them to not bag things up properly first... or rude of the trash pickers to rip open the bags and make a mess, as they are prone to do. If it is continuing problem, I would definitely call and report it. You presented the problem as NEW tenants moved in and left their trash out, which made it sound like a one time occurrence - if they are NEW, how is it a continuing problem?

I never presented myself as an environmental genius (looks like you are claiming that title)... I was trying to present myself as an understanding neighbor.

well I'm glad you have deep sympothy for lazy 20somethings who would rather move in on monday miss trash on tuesday and put piles of trash out on wednesday. I hope their next apartment is next door to forgiving you.

Jenna - I have had 20-somethings move near me and trip up about trash day. I found what solved the issue immediately was talking to them, explaining which day of the week is trash day and warning them that the city will hand you a rather lefty ticket if you break the rules.
