This intersection is VERY dangerous. Left/Right arrows need to be added to the stoplight. Making a right turn onto NB Unser from WB Bandelier is so risky and dangerous unless the light is green, due to to volume and speed of traffic and the bushes on the east side of the road block the view. Tuning EB onto Bandelier from NB Unser is the worst. No left turn arrow and the bushes/ trees in the median are a hazard, growing out into the street. The slight hill before the light makes it hard to see oncoming traffic. A turning arrow would solve so many problems. This whole intersection needs help before someone gets seriously hurt! Please City of ABQ, install turn-arrows!!!

Per the department, obstruction issue is being assessed and has been placed in the Traffic Engineering Project Tracking System. Resolution will occur on a priority basis.

Per the Traffic Division, We do not place left turn arrows when the left turn volume is relatively low, takes too much time from the through movement green time. With much of the traffic now being transferred to McMahon & Unser intersection this left turn movement has tended to be even lower then before. The Sight distance is 215 feet. Even with the removal of the vegetation the sight distance will not increase.

I want to know who in the traffic division did the report, and want to read it myself. You are absolutely correct that the removal of vegetation will not increase the sight distance, that is why we need a turn light. Give me a person who I need to speak with in traffic management and I will call them myself.
