It's still going on. Huge, ridiculously fast moving tandem axle trucks flying into town. They nearly all have no mufflers and use their engine brakes making huge amounts of noise.
Someone's going to get killed with the way they fly into town. All it's going to take is one small child, or a pedestrian to walk out mistakenly.
Again, today, June 1, I witnessed the State Police stopping dozens of cars, but NO trucks.

So, will it take someone to die?

Yesterday, June 29, a 53' tractor trailer tried to take a right turn from Railroad Ave onto Main. It took down the railroad crossing gate stanchion and supports, and the truck blew 3 tires, amongst other damage. The guy tried to drive away. Luckily there was a State Police car nearby.

These trucks are still flying into town, using their excessively NOISY engine brakes.

No change after 8 months.
Even more trucks than ever.
No signs for "no engine braking" anywhere to be seen going into farmingdale.
I truly feel sorry for people who live there. The noise, stink and danger is there almost constantly.

Petition The Borough of Farmingdale to DEAD end Southard Ave. It is their Road and that would stop some of the Through traffic. the could put up the dead end right after the elementary school. They also own Railroad and could dead end this road as well at the corner of main. The Borough would need people at the town meetings over and over to move on it as they are not the fastest for change but this idea has been suggested before. The town can control it but they choose not to. Maybe if more people showed up at town meetings to petition them to make a change they would. They also could put in traffice calming speed bumps like they have through Little Silver and parts of Eatontown but again nothing moves.

Agreed, that the town is very slow at doing such things.
I've worked in Farmingdale for over 20 years. I've seen no change as far as "downtown" improvements go, other than the pedestrian crossing signs. But then again, everyone jaywalks anyway. The few that cross at the crosswalks take their lives into their hands.

I don't see why the DOT can't put signs at 195/Allaire/524A with an arrow for "Freeway Warehouse ONLY" The same sign needs to be at 524 and 524A. Then a period of strict enforcement of the large dump trucks and other over sized trucks that barrel down Main St telling them where to go.

Doing so could be a cash cow both for Howell, and if they get to town, Farmingdale. Fine the snot out of the drivers/trucking companies that continue to use the wrong way.

Lastly Howell township needs to put signs up directing ALL truck traffic that comes down Yellowbrook Rd to 524, and send them all to Rt 33, where they belong, rather than on local streets and narrow back roads as they do now.

But I'll bet it never happens.

Still no change, actually it's even worse. There seems to be even more heavy truck activity in the area than ever.
The sound of engine brakes rattling the windows and deafening people outside are still going on daily.

still pretty much the same, there is more of an issue with the recycling and garbage buildings on Railroad ave with Tri-State's death trucks FLYING into and out of Farmingdale, with their stupidly noisy open exhausts.
Where are the troopers to ticket and fine the crap out of these guys? I guess they'd rather entrap people at the cross walks and those doing .5 mph over the 25 limit.

If anything it's FAR WORSE than ever before. There are now huge tractor trailers, dump trucks and waste haulers using all of the small local feeder roads instead of using the two state highways and the county bypass that was intended for trucks.

Still no change after all these years. Large 80,000+ lb trucks flying into town at 70 plus mph. Tri Axle death trap dump trucks going in and out of town, with NO mufflers which rattle everything to the core. It's truly disgusting.
