I live on Elmfeild at the bottom of the hill and while I was waiting with my young son for his bus ,a car came racing down the hill and hopped onto the side walk nearly missing my son and I ! Is it going to have to take a child or adult to get hurt before someone realize that something needs to be done ! I have already placed a complaint with the town that was 2 years ago !
No, speeding still continues down the hill starting from South Main St to stop sign on Westgate St. It's a very dangerous thing due to many intersections along the way that do have stop signs but only on the side st's . Elmfield St is a straitaway from So. Main to Elmfield St.
Also, At the intersection of Elmfield St and Colonial St there is a high shrub that obstructs view of motorists heading west on Elmfield. The motorist coming out of Colonial St has to pull way out of the street to view any coming cars. This really needs to be given some attention.
NO, we have a lot more traffic due to the new shopping plaza on Newington Rd. at the end of Elmfield St. They are still speeding. You have difficulty getting out of your own driveway.. This street is still unsafe.
Nobody has done anything, not even a solar speed device put up to let ppl know they are going to fast...will it take more accidents or a kid getting hit to get something done?????
