Description
2308 Milburnie has been abandoned for several years. The back window is wide open and easily accessible by both wildlife and people. I have seen kids climb through the back window previously and last night shots were fired on the property (case number P11127158). The two properties immediately west are also abandoned (2304 and 2300 Milburnie) and owned by the same owner. Reports have been filed with the Housing Authority previously. The image will show overgrown grass and a window that was never installed, leaving a wide-open space. In the front yard there is a significant amount of yard waste. With these three properties abandoned all in a row, it was only a matter of time before there was criminal activity. This neighborhood is working very hard to maintain properties and community, but it does not inspire confidence to know myself or my houseguests could have been shot last night because these three properties are abandoned and untended. I know the city has billed the owner for yard work in the past, but is there not a greater responsibility once criminal activity has actually occurred? Do we have to wait for something dramatic to happen? Myself and my neighbors would appreciate prompt action by the City of Raleigh.
