Description
Hi,
Unfortunately I was the driver in the accident which cause this damage on January 11, 2014. Since then my car has been repaired (over $11k) and the court dismissed my ticket for this being a true accident related to road conditions.
I thought the guardrail would be repaired by now and I fear that if there is another accident in the future, the next driver will not have the full protection I had from the guardrail. It really did a good job in keeping me out on the road as things would have been worse if I fell off the road.

Yes, my car sustained over $11,000 in damages. And yes, the insurance was notified. I was given a ticket. I went to court and was pardoned for the ticket. Therefore I am not held responsible for the damage to the guardrail. The road was simply too icy to be safe - at any speed.
I chose to speak up re. the damaged guardrail because It's not like I'm trying to hide the fact that it happened. I'm the one who called the police in the first place because I wanted to do the right thing. If someone should have a similar problem when the road becomes icy this year, there will not be a full guardrail to catch him/her. That would be devastating.
I believe I may have sited the wrong street address. This is on Laughlin not Fletcher. The closest house should be something like 10 Laughlin Road. It's just that when I did the google map to try and figure out the street address it pointed this as being Fletcher. I do hope the Town revisit this issue.
Respectfully,
Dave

I appreciate your reply and certainly look forward to seeing the new rail installed. I can tell you I have a new appreciation for the many factors which can contribute to accidents. I also go around the long way when there is inclement weather now to avoid the hill and curve.
