9th Avenue North in front of 779 9th North (The Regency Apartments).
This is the section of 9th Avenue that also floods entirely (over the sidewalks) during rain now.
In the span of less than 45 minutes of rain and 9th Avenue flooding on Saturday afternoon, the pothole previously reported has tripled in size. And the original brick substrate beneath the asphalt is now showing signs of loosening.
This series of photos documents the following:
The City of STP never fills in the entire potholes—meaning water gets under the patches and the asphalt comes loose—and then traffic going through the hole further dislodges it.
Whatever ‘patch’ material is being used is clearly inferior quality or is not being used correctly.
This problem will only continue to worsen—and again. And to avoid this during yesterday’s storm, traffic was (again) swerving and driving up and onto the sidewalk on the south side of 9th Avenue to avoid this.
