This is the last original "black amber" in the city, where a green arrow just turns off, and is not explicitly followed by an amber (yellow)arrow. The 5-second delay is still there before a conflicting movement starts, but it is not shown with an indication, thus the term "black amber." We are planning to upgrade the two old signal spans on Colchester Avenue to new LED signals, like what we have now on Riverside Avenue. The right green arrow coming off the bridge will be followed by a yellow arrow when the light changes in the new signal configuration. This is probably a mid to late 2015 project.

Mid to late 2015? Its 2018 and still no fix. Please upgrade this intersection.

It has been a while, but we finally got to it. The string of signals by Winooski Bridge has been replaced with new signals and LEDs. At about 3:30 yesterday, for the first time, we have a yellow arrow following the green southbound right turn arrow. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
