If you are in the left turn lane, and have a green light to turn left, it is nearly impossible to do so. The oncoming traffic going in the opposite direction is usually so backed up, that the light turns red before you have a chance to turn. They need to just eliminate the unprotected signal, and stick with an arrow only. The traffic volume on this road is way too heavy for an unprotected left turn, Also, there are too many people who try to sneak out there very fast, almost risking a collision.
