Tell businesses to stop feeding the birds! The birds will eventually leave when they stop getting free bread (could take up to a year, birds know safe food sources and they teach their young).
I always see lots of bread on Bergen/Academy. And Bergen/Montgomery, and TONS of pigeons hanging out in both areas.
And im sorry for any bird lovers but pigeons are just flying rats. Please stop feeding the flying rats. They will survive just fine, considering the trash all over the city, they have plenty of food sources.

I have witnessed employees of Prince of Pizza, (Bergen/Montgomery) dumping big bags of bread on the sidewalk.
By Bergen/Academy, im not sure who is dumping bread (not as much as the Pizza place) but i have seen it by the daycare center/ ctown (central square market) parking area. The bread is placed close to the daycare but it could be the market or even some random person who likes to feed the birds. My guess is one of those businesses though.

L, you should report them. In this case, no one is feeding them by the wires. One or two birds hang there throughout the day but then they show up en mass when school is getting out. It's the strangest thing.

An animal control officer responded and did not find an issue. There were less than a dozen birds in the area, a common occurrence in the city. There was not an alarming amount of bird feces in the area. There was no food left out. Local residents indicated that they did not have a problem with birds
