City of Brookhaven City Manager's Office assigned this issue to Brookhaven Department of Parks and Recreation

Agreed - parks budget for the city was not seasonal in its cost analysis. Sounds like cost cutting in the wrong place.

If the bathrooms are not heated, the pipes will burst when the temperatures drop below freezing.

Then wrap the pipes - the bathrooms need to stay open - if the park is open - the bathrooms need to be open - this park is used year round - all seasons. I walk when it is warm, hot, rain, shine or snow. How can we expect to draw park users if they can't take their kids - or themselves - to a bathroom - the kids can pee in the woods or behind a tree but I am too old for that and would get arrested.

Are all the bathrooms locked up until spring - including the ones at the softball/football and baseball fields? They are part of Murphey Candler Park as well and should be open to the park visitors. A a sign could be put up directing the park users to those bathrooms - a bit of a walk but better than nothing. Well not that far but the closer you get, the more you have to go).

We do apologize, but the restrooms at the Murphey Candler Park playgrounds do not have operational heaters. As indicated above, due to recent low temperatures in early November the restroom was winterized along with all water fountains and irrigation systems in City of Brookhaven Parks to ensure that they do not burst.

The restrooms on the baseball/softball/football field side of the park remain open.

This issue has been resolved by the City of Brookhaven and service request ID 1385192 is now closed.

It is unacceptable to close them due to the heaters not being operational. Fix them or install new ones. The park is not a seasonal venue - it is open year round. Take the money from the Pink Pony coffers.
