Councilor Bartley, great observation, however these saplings will die if the keep getting abused. These trees need to be staked else the next snow & ice storm could kill them.

I meant to reply earlier when Conservation reached out to me; they are aware of this tree and will do what's necessary when the ground thaws. On another front, last night CC approved a $20,000 grant to the City for maintenance and planting of city trees over the next year. There are no matching funds. Proceeds will go towards hiring youth to work on forestry issues. Kudos to Mr. Smith in Conservation for leading us on this.
