Northbound/Downhill direction, 1 mile section south of Centennial/Golf Course Rd intersection Countless cracks, potholes and hazards.
Numerous partial 'repairs' has left the surface a disaster. It needs to be totally redone or sealed like the section 1 mile to the south. That work was only done after a tragic accident.

I don't understand the previous comment No! What is that supposed to mean? The road surface has not been repaired and needs to be fixed, like i stated when i created the report.
Mr Anonymous User, would you care to be a little more expansive. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY?

Grizzly Peak Road (Blvd) on both sides of the Claremont/Fish Ranch intersection is so bad that its not safe in either direction. Last October a cyclist **DIED** due to the cracks on the downhill section travelling North to South!
After the death, the city apparently made a geture by to fill the cracks on this one section -only on the north-to-south (northern) section. They didnt both to do the uphill lane. Since then the tar that was poured into the cracks or fissures has settled, and new cracks have appeared.
On the south side of the Claremont intersection on the downhill section (heading north), the road is even worse than the other side!!
Whats going on? Is anyone working at all in the City of Oakland ?

Hi Tom,
I completely agree - Perhaps we were talking about different sections of the same road. I was refering to the area close to Claremont. The road on either side has deteriorated past the point of being patchable. There are more and more cracks appearing with every rainstorm.
This is total negligence on the part of The Ciry of Oakland public works dept.
I found this link to their web page:

Has anyone opened up a repair request with them ? I'm not sure "SeeClickFix" is going to be enough to get them to do anything. Who is the councilmember for that section of Oakland (and yes, its in Oakland - just barely).
Maybe we can get the TV news people to cover it. Then we'd see it fixed before the Grizzly Peak Century (May 6). This piece of road is not only embarassing to us local bicyclists. It's a matter of public safety.
PS I dont work for anyone ! I'm just a another cyclist who votes. I would gladly lead a campaign against the incumant councilmember if they dont respond.
