I live right there and this request is absolutely correct. The shop has become a nuisance lately with blocking the sidewalk AND street, wherein field of vision is zero. The speeding is constant here and that shop provokes this behavior. This area needs improvement for traffic calming, delineators at corners for pedestrians, speed humps and rumble strips. We can't drive, cross the street or get out of our cars safely. There's only one speed hump on Culver Avenue that really doesn't solve the issue, it's a very long street and doesn't stop them from speeding around it. Thank you very much!

Yes, that's right. It's my day off today. I was using my computer, and they just raced, making me startled. The City must pay more attention to our area. And yes, that sport auto shop is the source of these races as well. Please help us solving with it you very much!

Thank you so much for the comments. I found myself mad when looking for a parking this morning at 9am due to street cleaning. And I ended up parking on the street that would have street cleaning at 1 to 3pm today. I had to put my alarm at 1pm so I would remember to move my car away. We really need the permit parking. I am willing to pay the a fee for it. Look at Jersey Heights, they have permit parking. Why not us? We are Jersey City residents, too!

My husband and I are long time JC residents. I have been pushing for permit parking to no avail. Was told we need resident approval from our neighbors to implement, which I find very hard to believe.

Yes, there are cars speeding every night and day across Mallory ave, that is not from the shop that's the regular traffic. We have a hard time crossing on crosswalks with no lights. I'm in the middle of the cross walk and cars still won't let me go. I thought cars are suppose to stop when we are in the crosswalk but it's not working. The cars making noise are kids hanging out on Pollock ave. In the night. When I come down the block there's kids in the street, I have to pop my horn for them to get out of the street. Parking is soooo congested it would be a bad idea for Permit Parking. I have been going through this parking problem since I moved down here 2016. Bad idea for Permit Parking. Residents living in those condos had options for parking they just didn't want to pay for it and have to park in the street. I would suggest speed bumps and/or 1 or 2 more street lights. People are coming off rt440 and speeding across Mallory ave. Thank you.

It will be super hard to have a QUIET ZONE ...so much challengers and chargers that are loud drive thru here everyday all day

The shop can never provoke the behavior of strangers that speeds on the regular across Mallory. That would be unfair and untrue to make such a comment without and way to prove this. The fact is a shop can legally park cars as much cars on the street there's nothing wrong with that. It's called PUBLIC parking!!

Thank you for submitting your concerns. The City is currently working on a plan to redesign Mallory Ave which would include traffic calming measures along the length of the corridor. If you wish to have permit parking in your neighborhood, please reach out to your Councilwoman's office.

They're speeding every day on Mallory Ave in 07305 Jersey City. These loud cars with their extremely loud engines are doing donuts in the parking lot across the street (West Side light rail station). There needs to be some speed and noise control, especially around Mallory/Claremont.

Funny. I found this post for 5/5/2022 but yet people assume that the auto mechanic shop is responsible for the cars that speed on mallory.... the mechanic shop opened on 12/15/2022. Apparently the speeding was around before the opening of the shop. The shop has nothing to do with the speeding.

While I completely agree with tammy about noise and speeding being out of control before the shop opened, I just witnessed everyone who works there closing up and leaving. 6 cars with popping mufflers racing away. This place adds to the out of control noise and racing as it's a shop intended for these purposes. I'm very much looking forward to some sort of help from the city. This noise and racing really affects all of us negatively.

Speeding and crossing the street is still very much a problem for ege to pollock. I cant cross a street in any crosswalk on mallory until the light changes no one respects the crosswalks we need traffic lights or stop signs on ege and mallory and also on pollock and mallory. Thank very much.

Thank you for following up. It's like a racing strip here at night on Mallory Avenue and several blocks surrounding. Culver Avenue definitely needs more speed humps, there's only one on the very long part of the block, which is ineffective as it's not always parked next to, and none are between Mallory and Westside. People literally go 50 plus through here, one after the other, especially at night. Mallory Avenue is a nightmare, they race through here (Fisk through Claremont that I see and hear nightly) we have to hold our breath that they aren't going to smash into something or someone. We can't get out of our cars safely, or cross the street safely without fear. Corner delineators are definitely needed. My neighbor's car was totaled from someone turning off Mallory onto Culver and didn't slow down. Please help us to have a better quality of life on the Westside 🙏 thank you
